Since I began regularly attending shows in 2005, Theatre Inconnu has consistently presented theatre that challenges me—in both the script and the execution. Frankenstein by David Elendune, directed by Ian Case (who also created the spooky light and sound (with Jason King) design as well as the period appropriate costumes), is set in the round (design Hannah Case) with most of the audience at eye level with the action, making this already … [Read more...]

It's fall, glorious fall—the busiest time in the arts calendar, and local theatre companies, large and small, established and emerging, professional, indy, community and student, present a wide variety of opportunities for every pocket book. Don't let anyone tell you Victoria is a cultural backwater—there are almost fifty productions this season. Our ticket prices continue to be some of the lowest in the nation with many opportunities to … [Read more...]

Friday night was a blend of both—catching an early show at … [Read more...]

Fake Ghost Tours 2 at the Victoria Fringe 2018. An interview.
Not all shows at the Victoria Fringe Festival take place in a theatre. Local comedians Abdul Aziz and Shawn O’Hara paired up in 2017 for a comedy walking tour—the wildly-popular Fake Ghost Tours (of downtown Victoria) and they’re back this year. My recommendation—buy tickets in advance if you are planning on going. This show was a sell-out for its entire run in 2017. … [Read more...]
