The Derwin Blanshard Show, Season 2 Episode 7, March 23, 2014.

Wes Borg, perpetual funny-man and one of Victoria’s most well-rounded and hardest working performers, stars as his alter-ego Derwin Blanshard.  Now in its second season, the Derwin Blanshard Show aka Derwin Blanshard’s Extremely Classy Sunday Evening Programme, is a post-modern take on the variety show—a meta-theatrical tour-de-force with an audience playing itself on a “live” TV show.

Springing from the minds of Borg and Kathryn Popham, working under the banner of Delusional Productions, this format sees Borg playing the fictional Brit, Derwin Blanshard, complete with ex-wives (played by Popham, Amanda Lisman, Kelly Hudson and others), children (Anna Irwin-Borg, Julian Cervello), and a host of studio side-kicks (Morgan Cranny, Jen Wilcox, Paul Oppers, David Bruce).  Guests have included scientists (Andrew Weaver, Bob McDonald), politicians (Nicholas Simons, Lana Popham, Dean Fortin) and pop-culture sparks (Luigi the Lovebird, Ann Makosinski—2013 winner of the Google Science Fair, Gareth Gaudin—creator of the Perogy Cat). Local performers entertain and a celebrity mixologist pours generous libations.

Guests are encouraged to “over-dress” with one couple arriving in their best wedding finery, complete with top hat.

Join the gang on the fourth Sunday of the month for a “most entertaining evening”.
