Kindred Spirits: Elektra Women’s Choir & Shelagh Rogers

I’m happy to promote a rare Victoria concert by Vancouver’s Elektra Women’s Choir,  “Kindred Spirits”, Saturday May 14th at Christ Church Cathedral.

Kindred Spirits brings together Shelagh Rogers, an icon of Canadian broadcasting, and Vancouver’s renowned Elektra Women’s Choir (Morna Edmundson, Artistic Director) in an exploration of friendship, love, and what it means to be Canadian. Incorporating Shelagh’s personal reminiscences, carefully chosen songs, and choreography, all performed against a backdrop of spectacular imagery by world-renowned photographer, Mike Grandmaison, Kindred Spirits will move and inspire you.

Thanks for helping to spread the word of Elektra’s pending visit to Victoria, Janis. I’ve attended many choral concerts in my time, but few have affected me as profoundly as this one did – and as their Marketing Director I knew the show. What I wasn’t prepared for, however, was the emotional impact of Mike’s amazing photography and Shelagh’s very heartfelt and personal script. WARNING: bring Kleenex!
