Barenaked Ladies launch 2014 Canaidan tour at UVic’s Farquhar Auditorium January 15 2014

It’s a feather in UVic Farquhar Auditorium’s cap to be the opening venue for the 2014 Canadian tour of the Barenaked Ladies.  If you’re a fan, you’ll want to get online at 9:30 am Thursday October 31st when tickets are released.

BNL 2013 Fall (3)

The Barenaked Ladies hit the road this winter embarking on a 2014 Canada tour. The band has a lot to celebrate, surpassing their 25th anniversary and the release of their 12th album, Grinning Streak in 2013.

Their new music unfolds with the signature blend of immediacy, tunefulness and witty sophistication that made such BNL hits as “Pinch Me, “Brian Wilson,” “If I Had $1,000,000” and the chart-topping “One Week” modern-day classics. The Huffington Post cited “on the just released “Grinning Streak, “ BNL sounds as fresh and focused as they did in their late-‘90’s heyday. A collection of infectious melodies, clever lyrics, and hopeful sentiments, “Grinning Streak” brims with the kind of playful energy that’s always been the band’s best asset.” By combining humor with an eclectic mix of folk and pop/rock, the “Ladies” will keep audiences smiling and singing along.

Opening the shows on the Canadian tour will be Warner Music Canada recording artists, Ladies of the Canyon.

Tickets go on sale to the public Thursday, October 31 at 9:30am online, in person and by phone at the University Ticket Centre.
