Greater Victoria Shakespeare Festival 2017 season

Greater Victoria Shakespeare Festival 2017 season

A mainstay in summer performance in Victoria, the Greater Victoria Shakespeare Festival celebrates its 27th season with Macbeth  directed by Kate Rubin and Karen Lee Pickett and Love’s Labour’s Lost directed by Janet Munsil, and announces a new collaboration in partnership with the Township Community Arts Council (Esquimalt).

There is simply something magical about being outdoors, in the warm summer air, listening to words that are now over 450 years old–as intrigued as the groundlings might have been.  It’s the perfect venue for a summer picnic dinner and a wonderful way to introduce children to theatre.

Performances take place  at Camosun College’s Lansdowne Campus July 6-29, 2017 and new this year will be special performances at Saxe Point in Esquimalt in partnership with the Township Community Arts Council August 3-5, 2017.

Beginning in May, look for festival representatives at the many markets and community events in the region, where they will be selling half-price tickets for shows.
