Our upcoming season features Canadian content that will entertain, educate and enrich our mid-Island community with challenging and dynamic performing arts events that celebrate Canada and our vibrant creative sector.

Flotsam & Jetsam: Life on the West Coast created by Ross Desprez and Tobin Stokes

This folk musical revue featuring talented Vancouver Island performers tells historic tales of BC’s unique people and places using original songs, dramatic narrative, and a multi-media backdrop of archival imagery.

Sansei: The Storyteller created and performed by Mark Kunji Ikeda
Thurs. to Sat. Nov. 23-25 | 7:30pm & 2pm Saturday matinee
This dance-theatre piece weaves the story of BC’s Japanese internment camps into a sophisticated, meaningful, and humorous personal story. This award-winning, socially conscious performance looks at the silver lining behind a dark time in Canadian history. Ikeda’s creative practice combines evocative narrative and choreography.

God is a Scottish Drag Queen: The Second Coming by Canadian comedian Mike Delamont
Fri. and Sat. Jan. 26 & 27 | 7:30pm
Back by popular demand! In one of the funniest stand-up routines ever, the omnipotent playwright as the Almighty returns to Nanaimo to confirm our misunderstanding of Him and what he really thinks about humanity. Don’t miss this Second Coming!

With Glowing Hearts: How Ordinary Women Worked Together to Change the World (and did) written by Jennifer Wynne Webber, directed by David Mann
Wed. to Sat. April 11-14 | 7:30pm & 2pm Saturday matinee
This is the rousing true story of the women in 1940s Ontario who fought to improve conditions for the men working in the Kirkland Lake mines. They became the heart and soul of a union movement that changed their lives – and the world.
