Volunteering for the Victoria Fringe Festival

It's no secret - I love theatre, especially the Victoria Fringe Festival. Every summer since 2007 I have made the last two weeks of summer my staycation, working half days, volunteering in the afternoons and fringing away like crazy into the wee hours of the morning. Why? I'm a failed thespian; star of high school drama, and student in the U of C theatre department before becoming "serious" about life. Although I did manage a role as … [Read more...]

Please support this initiative if you believe, as I do, that we benefit from creating the community we want to see.  Kudos to the women involved (who at this time are anonymous). In these times of budgetary restraint, it’s wonderful to see a community pull together to produce an entirely FREE family friendly event. … [Read more...]

Sweetening the pot for @Cabin12Victoria.

@Cabin12Victoria is an amazing story. The owner Corey Judd raised the capital to start his restaurant from a Facebook group. Cabin 12 is home to our morning #victoriatweetup. We’ve enjoyed the casual atmosphere and honest home cooked food on many occasions. Now, they need our help. Operating funds have dried up – not surprising for a newer restaurant in November in Victoria BC. Corey is staging a fundraiser on Saturday November 21st from … [Read more...]
