Victoria Arts Adventures March 2014

Victoria Arts Adventures March 2014.

When I started writing about the arts, some of my first posts were an attempt to capture what was happening on a seasonal basis in the theatre community in Victoria BC.  It provided a place to get all the theatre listings in one place—I figured if I was having trouble keeping it straight most people would have the same problem.  Since 2011 the number of offerings has increased exponentially, and I’ve also started to branch out by going to some music, spoken word, dance and comedy events.  My Monday Magazine column ArtSmarts cannot even begin to capture everything that is of interest.

Without prejudice—if I haven’t mentioned YOUR event, please contact me and I’ll add it—here is what I’ve noted for MARCH only.  I hope to post A Spring of Theatre 2014 in Victoria BC  shortly.

I’ve included The Victoria Spoken Word Festival, the first Festival de Films Francophone Victoria, Idea Fest at UVic, the 17th Annual French Fest Victoria, the TD Festival of New Works at the Canadian College of Performing Arts, the SPARK Festival at the Belfry Theatre and the Ligeti Festival co-produced by the Victoria Symphony and the University of Victoria Music Department.

We live in a city that is rich in cultural experiences. Spring symbolizes, for many people, re-birth and new beginnings.  Here are some wonderful opportunities to add some art to your life.
